This dictionary has been prepared with the help of intellectuals, researchers, and professionals from the widest range of subject areas and with a diverse array of theoretical, methodological, and political approaches. The defined terms do not conform to an official, dogmatic or over-simplistic definition, but rather are written in an inquiring spirit so as to allow each author to express their point of view. It is a comprehensive, 4-volume edition spanning 446 authors and 921 entries. Between its covers are 130 academic research institutions from a host of countries. It is, without a shadow of a doubt, a work of enormous interest to students and teachers alike from across all fields of study within the humanities and social sciences.
