Poet, philosopher and artist, Gibrán Jalil Gibrán was born in Lebanon in 1883, which is a land that has produced many poets whose fame and influence have spread beyond the Middle East. His poetry has been translated in more than 20 languages and his drawing and painting exhibitions have been held in the most important cities around the world. In the United States, which was his home for 20 years, he started writing in English. The Prophet and his other poetry titles, illustrated with his mystic drawings are highly recognized among countless Americans who seek in them an expression of the deepest desire of the heart and of the human mind. He died in 1931.
