It was interesting seeing the scandals of the popes, but the book would have benefited from a better flow and a bibliography to substantiate all of the actions of these popes. It suffers from lack of evidence and a very chaotic flow. Read full review

About the author (2007)

Nigel Cawthorne is a well-known historian whose book credits include Vietnam" A War Lost and Won, Reaping the Whirlwind: The German and Japanese Experience of World War II", and History's Greatest Battles". He lives in England.
