Senate bill No. 2 (File No. 2) A bill to amend section 1 of Act No. 73 of the Public Acts of 1923, entitled "An act to protect fish in the trout streams of this State, and to regulate the manner of taking and transportation of fish from said waters, to provide penalties for violation of this act, and to repeal all acts and parts of acts conflicting therewith," approved April 20, 1923. Senate bill No. 3 (File No. 3) A bill to provide for the establishment and maintenance of courts of record in certain counties of this State, and designated as the Superior Courts; and defining the jurisdiction of such courts, powers, and duties thereof; to fix the number, time and manner of election of judges thereof; to provide a presiding judge; to define the privileges of such presiding judge; to modify the procedure in and classify the actions therein; and to provide for abolishing of certain statutory courts not of record having civil jurisdiction in such counties, in which the provisions of this act become operative, and vesting of the jurisdiction thereof in the court hereby created. Senate bill No. 5 (File No. 4) A bill to amend section 3 of Act No. 128 of the Public Acts of 1887, entitled "An act for the requiring of a civil license in order to marry, and the due registration of the same, and to provide a penalty for the violation of the provisions of the same," being section 11378 of the Compiled Laws of 1915, as amended by Act No. 195 of the Public Acts of 1917. Senate bill No. 6 (File No. 5) A bill to amend sections 1, 7 and 8 of Act No. 369 of the Public Acts of 1919, entitled "An act to supplement existing laws providing for the establishment and maintenance of municipal courts of record and defining the jurisdiction of such courts; to fix the number of judges thereof; to provide a presiding judge; to define the privileges of such presiding judge; to modify the procedure in and extend the jurisdiction of said courts in certain respects, and to provide for the abolishing of any police courts or other courts not of record having exclusive criminal jurisdiction existing in any city in which the provisions of this act become operative," as amended by Act No. 364 of the Public Acts of 1921, approved May 13, 1919. Motions and Resolutions. Mr. Brower offered the following: Resolved, That the President of the Senate be and is hereby authorized to appoint Miss Claire A. Walke, as clerk, in place of Irene Wilson, who declines the position; Miss Margaret McQueen, as clerk; and James Green, as assistant janitor. The resolution was adopted. Mr. Young introduced Senate bill No. 11, entitled Introduction of Bills. A bill to amend section 2 of Act No. 164 of the Public Acts of 1917, entitled “An act to prohibit the driving or operation of motor vehicles by persons under the influence of intoxicating liquor, or of any exhilarating or stupefying drug, and to provide penalties therefor," approved May 2, 1917. The bill was read a first and second time by its title, ordered printed, and referred to the Committee on Judiciary. Mr. Young also introduced Senate bill No 12, entitled A bill to provide a tax on gasoline, distillate, benzine, and other volatile and inflammable liquids, except kerosene oil and other oils less volatile than kerosene oil, produced and compounded for the purpose and capable of generating power or heat, used, sold, stored or distributed within the State, and to provide for the payment and collection of such tax and for the disposition thereof, and to exempt such liquids from other forms of taxation.
