A bill to amend section 3 of Act No. 128 of the Public Acts of 1887, entitled "An act for the requiring of a civil license in order to marry, and the due registration of the same, and to provide a penalty for the violation of the provisions of the same," being section 11378 of the Compiled Laws of 1915, as amended by Act No. 195 of the Public Acts of 1917.

Pending the taking of the vote on the passage of the bill,
Mr. Bernie L. Case offered the following amendment:

Section 3 line 34, after the word "of," strike out "fifty cents" and insert in lieu thereof "one dollar."

The amendment was not seconded.

The question then being on the passage of the bill, the roll was called and the Senators voted as follows:

The bill was passed.

Mr. Brower moved that the Senate take a recess until 9:30 o'clock p. m.
The motion prevailed, the time being 9:20 o'clock p. m.

House bill No. 15 (file No. 14), entitled

A bill to amend sections 2, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 34 of Act No. 302 of the Public Acts of 1915, entitled "An act to provide for the registration, identification and regulation of motor vehicles and trailers attached thereto operated upon the public highways of this state, and of the operators of such vehicles, and to provide for levying specific taxes upon such vehicles so operated, and to provide for the disposition of such funds, and to repeal all other acts or parts of acts inconsistent herewith or contrary hereto," and to add a new section thereto to stand as section 39.

General Orders.

Mr. Penney moved that the Senate resolve itself into Committee of the Whole for consideration of the general orders.

The motion prevailed and the President designated Mr. Penney as chairman.
