The movement of beef and hog product has been very extensive, the tabulated statements of which in various and instructive forms may be found in the Secretary's report. The year has been one of unprecedented and substantial prosperity in all articles dealt in on the Board. The vital relation which the Board sustains to the entire business of the country was never more apparent than now, and your Directory congratulates the Association, not only upon its present financial condition, and the important position it occupies with reference to the great crops of the country, upon which all other business to a large extent depends, but upon the gratifying prospects which greet us upon the threshold of the new year. During the year twenty-six of our members have died, including three ex-presidents of the Board, viz.: Charles E. Culver, Asa Dow and A. M. Wright. Fitting words of eulogy and sympathy have been spoken; only the sad duty remains for us to place upon the record the honored names of the departed. Respectfully submitted.
