AN ACT to amend section one of act number two hundred thirteen of the public acts of nineteen hundred fifteen, entitled "An act to provide for a presiding circuit judge and for the manner of his selection, to prescribe his powers and duties and to defray the expenses incident thereto," being section fourteen thousand five hundred forty-six of the compiled laws of nineteen hundred fifteen.

The People of the State of Michigan enact:

SECTION 1. Section one of act number two hundred thirteen of the public acts of nineteen hundred fifteen, entitled "An act to provide for a presiding circuit judge and for the manner of his selection, to prescribe his powers and duties and to defray the expenses incident thereto," being section fourteen thousand five hundred forty-six of the compiled laws of nineteen hundred fifteen, is hereby amended to read as follows:

SEC. 1. At such time before the fifteenth day of September of each year and at such time and place within the state of Michigan as the presiding circuit judge shall designate by written notice to all circuit judges at least over a month in advance of the date so selected, the circuit judges of the state shall meet and elect one of their number presiding circuit judge for the ensuing year commencing on the first day of January thereafter. In case of the death, removal or disability of the presiding circuit judge, the governor shall designate a presiding circuit judge to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term.

AN ACT to authorize incorporated villages and cities of the fourth and fifth classes to sell and dispose of their gas, electric or other lighting plants, and to determine the procedure therefor.

The People of the State of Michigan enact:

SECTION 1. The council of any city of the fourth or fifth Gas, etc., class, or of any incorporated village, is hereby authorized plants, may to sell, transfer and convey at such price and upon such terms as said council shall deem advisable, any works, system or property owned by such city or village for the purpose of supplying such city or village and the inhabitants thereof with gas, electric or other lights, or any part of such works, system or property: Provided, That no such proposed sale, Proviso, transfer and conveyance shall be valid until the same shall referendum. have been approved by the affirmative votes of three-fifths of the electors of such city or village voting thereon at a regular

or special municipal or village election.

SEC. 2. Nothing in this act shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect the powers of any cities except cities of the fourth and fifth classes.

SEC. 3. All acts and parts of acts inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.

This act is ordered to take immediate effect.

AN ACT to amend section two of act number one hundred fifty-six of the public acts of eighteen hundred fifty-one, entitled "An act to define the powers and duties of the boards of supervisors of the several counties and to confer upon them certain local administrative and legislative powers", which would follow section two thousand two hundred sixty-five of the compiled laws of nineteen hundred fifteen.

The People of the State of Michigan enact:

SECTION 1. Section two of act number one hundred fifty- Section six of the public acts of eighteen hundred fifty-one, entitled amended. "An act to define the powers and duties of the boards of supervisors of the several counties and to confer upon them certain local administrative and legislative powers", which would follow section two thousand two hundred sixty-five of

SEC. 2. The board of supervisors is hereby authorized to offer and pay out of the general fund of the county not to exceed one thousand dollars as a reward for the arrest and conviction or for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any person or persons having committed a crime within the county or having escaped from any penal institution therein: Provided, That the powers granted hereby may be exercised by the finance committee of the board of supervisors where said board of supervisors is not in session. AN ACT to amend the title and section one of act number one hundred sixteen of the public acts of nineteen hundred twenty-three, entitled "An act to authorize township boards to make improvements in streets, alleys and public places in certain cases, by grading, curbing, graveling or cinderizing streets; to provide for making, levying and collecting of special assessments to pay the cost thereof, and to issue special assessment bonds in anticipation of the collection of such special assessment taxes to provide the money with which to pay the cost of such improvement," approved May two, nineteen hundred twenty-three.

The People of the State of Michigan enact:

SECTION 1. The title and section one of act number one hundred sixteen of the public acts of nineteen hundred twenty-three, entitled "An act to authorize township boards to make improvements in streets, alleys and public places in certain cases, by grading, curbing, graveling or cinderizing streets; to provide for making, levying and collecting of special assessments to pay the cost thereof, and to issue special assessment bonds in anticipation of the collection of such special assessment taxes to provide the money with which to pay the cost of such improvement", approved May two, nineteen hundred twenty-three, are hereby amended to read as follows:

TITLE.

An Act to authorize township boards to make improvements in certain platted lands in such townships, the plats of which have been duly approved and recorded and in unplatted lands adjacent thereto by grading, curbing, graveling or cinderizing streets, laying storm sewers to care for surface

water in such streets and making extensions of water mains to provide water for fire protection and domestic uses; to provide for making, levying and collecting of special assessments to pay the cost thereof, and to issue special assessment bonds in anticipation of the collection of such special assessment taxes to provide the money with which to pay the cost of such improvement.

SEC. 1. In any township where there are platted lands, Plats, may improve, etc. the plats of which have been duly approved and recorded, lying outside of the boundaries of incorporated villages, the township board shall have authority to make improvements by grading, curbing, graveling or cinderizing streets, laying storm sewers to care for surface waters in such streets and making extensions of water mains to provide water for fire protection and domestic uses in any such platted lands, and in unplatted lands contiguous thereto; to levy and collect special assessments to pay the cost thereof and to issue bonds in anticipation of the collection of said special assessments, subject to the terms and conditions hereinafter provided. AN ACT authorizing the state administrative board to sell and convey certain primary school lands to the school district of the city of Lansing.

The People of the State of Michigan enact:

SECTION 1. The state administrative authorized to sell and convey to the school district of the city may convey, of Lansing, upon such terms and for such considerations as shall be determined by the state administrative board, all that certain parcel of land, situate in the city of Lansing, described as block seventy-nine of the city of Lansing, Michigan, according to the original plat thereof, the same being primary school lands granted to the state of Michigan under provisions of the act of congress of the United States, approved June twenty-three, eighteen hundred thirty-six. The How used. lands and premises when so sold and conveyed shall be occupied and used, or the proceeds from the sale thereof, by the school district of the city of Lansing for public school purposes, and if used to the contrary, the title thereto, herein authorized to be transferred, shall thereupon revert to the state of Michigan, to be held as primary school lands. Approved May 13, 1925.

AN ACT to amend section six of act number one hundred fifty-two of the public acts of eighteen hundred eighty-five, entitled "An act to authorize the establishment of a home for disabled soldiers, sailors and marines in the state of Michigan," being section one thousand six hundred sixtynine of the compiled laws of nineteen hundred fifteen.

The People of the State of Michigan enact:

SECTION 1. Section six of act number one hundred fiftytwo of the public acts of eighteen hundred eighty-five, entitled "An act to authorize the establishment of a home for disabled soldiers, sailors and marines in the state of Michigan," being section one thousand six hundred sixty-nine of the compiled laws of nineteen hundred fifteen, is hereby amended to read as follows:

SEC. 6. Each of the members of said board shall be entitled to receive five dollars per day for each day he shall be engaged with the business of the board and his actual and necessary expenses, the accounts for such expenses and compensation to be allowed by the board of state auditors and paid from the general fund in a similar manner to those for members of other boards of the several state institutions. This act is ordered to take immediate effect. Approved May 13, 1925.

AN ACT to repeal act number three hundred fifty-eight of the public acts of nineteen hundred seventeen, entitled "An act to provide for the protection of fish in the lakes known as Lake Pleasant and Elk lake in the county of Lapeer," approved May ten, nineteen hundred seventeen.

The People of the State of Michigan enact:

SECTION 1. Act number three hundred fifty-eight of the public acts of nineteen hundred seventeen, entitled "An act to provide for the protection of fish in the lakes known as Lake Pleasant and Elk lake in the county of Lapeer," approved may ten, nineteen hundred seventeen, is hereby repealed.
