Lamb of GOD, that takest away the sins of the world; Hear us, O LORD.

Lamb of GOD, that takest away the sins of the world; Spare us, O LORD.

Lamb of GOD, that takest away the sins of the world; Have mercy

upon us.

Kyrie eleyson. Christe eleyson. Kyrie eleyson.

Our FATHER. Hail, Mary.
And lead us not. But deliver.
Show us Thy mercy, O LORD.

And grant us Thy salvation.

Let Thy loving mercy come also unto us, O LORD. Even Thy salvation, according to Thy Word.

We have sinned with our fathers. We have done amiss, and dealt wickedly.

O LORD, deal not with us after our sins. Neither reward us after our iniquities.

Let us pray for every order in the Church. Let Thy Priests be clothed with righteousness, and let Thy saints sing with joyfulness. For our brothers and sisters. My GOD, save Thy servants and handmaids which put their trust in Thee.

For the whole Christian people. Save Thy people, O LORD, and bless Thine heritage; govern them, and set them up for ever.

O LORD, let peace be within Thy walls. And plenteousness in Thy palaces.

May the souls of Thy servants and handmaids rest in peace. Amen.

LORD, hear my prayer.
The LORD be with you.

And let my cry come unto Thee.
And with.

Let us pray.

O GOD, Whose property it is ever to have mercy and to forgive, receive our petitions; and those who are tied and bound with the chain of their sins, let the pitifulness of Thy mercy loose. Through CHRIST our LORD.

Let us pray.

Almighty and everlasting GOD, Who alone workest great marvels; send down upon Thy servants the Bishops, and all congregations committed to their charge, the healthful spirit of Thy grace; and that they may truly please Thee, pour upon them the continual dew of Thy blessing.

O GOD, Who through the grace of the HOLY SPIRIT dost pour the gifts of charity into the hearts of Thy faithful people; grant to Thy servants and handmaidens our brethren and sisters, for whom we beseech Thy clemency, health both of mind and body; that they

may love Thee with all their strength, and do those things which are pleasing to Thee with their whole heart.

O GOD, from Whom all holy desires, all good counsels, all just works do proceed; give unto Thy servants that peace which the world cannot give, that both our hearts may be set to obey Thy commandments, and also that by Thee, we being defended from the fear of our enemies, the times under Thy protection may be peaceable.

We beseech Thee, O LORD, mercifully to show Thy unspeakable pity upon us; cleanse us from all our sins, and graciously deliver us from those punishments which we deserve for them.

O GOD, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful, grant to the souls of the faithful departed the remission of all their sins, that by pious supplications they may obtain the pardon which they have always desired.

Of Thy goodness, we beseech Thee, O LORD, loose the chains of all our sins; and through the intercession of the blessed and glorious Mary, ever Virgin Mother of GOD, and of All Saints, preserve us Thy servants and the whole Catholic people in true holiness: and those who are related to us by blood, or friendship, or creed, that is, all Christian men, do Thou cleanse from vice, and adorn with virtue. Give to us peace and safety; keep far our foes, visible and invisible; drive away pestilence; give to our friends and enemies the gift of charity; and to all the faithful, living and departed, grant eternal life and rest in the land of the living. Through the same CHRIST our LORD. Amen.

And on Wednesday and Friday throughout Lent, except in feasts of nine lessons, Nones being over, before the Mass, let there be a procession of the priest and his ministers in albs and without the cross, to one of the side altars, where the prayers proper to the time having been said, two clerks of the second form, without changing their vestments, shall sing the above Litany from the beginning down to "All Saints, pray for us," in the Monday order of Martyrs, &c.; which done, let the Mass follow.

THE CHURCH IN PREPARATION.

1. The Liberties of the Church. An Address, delivered at the Annual Meeting of the English Church Union. By the Hon. COLIN LINDSAY. Church Press Company.

2. The Charge of the Lord Bishop of Salisbury. Rivingtons. 3. The Catholic Union for Prayer. Church Press Company.

THE three documents placed at the head of this article may well be grouped together, as showing that the Church has begun to appreciate the imminency of the dangers by which she is surrounded, both from within and from without.

1. The address of Mr. Colin Lindsay is a bold exposition of what the Church requires in her relation to the State. It is written in a sanguine spirit, for the writer considers it "easier to decree the cessation of the ebb and flow of the sea, than to stop the tide of Catholic revival now set in." At the same time we are glad to see, that he is entirely averse to the "dis-establishment of the Church," considering that there is another alternative, which we ought to demand, viz., "the restitution of rights."

And this, of course, opens the whole question of the historical status of the Church in this land, which Mr. Lindsay reviews at
