STATEMENT OF JOHN F. HENNING, UNDER SECRETARY OF LABOR; ACCOMPANIED BY STANLEY C. RUTTENBERG, SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE SECRETARY, AND KENNETH ROBERTSON, ACTING DEPUTY SOLICITOR

Mr. HENNING. Mr. Chairman, Senator, I would like to introduce my associates, Mr. Kenneth Robertson, the Acting Deputy Solicitor of the Department of Labor, and Mr. Stanley Ruttenberg, Special Assistant to the Secretary of Labor.

Senator CLARK. Yes, we are happy to have you with us; I don't think either of you requires any introduction before this subcommittee.

Mr. HENNING. Senator, our statement has been filed with the subcommittee. Reference is made from time to time in the message to charts which illustrate the points which we seek to develop.

Senator CLARK. I have read your statements, Mr. Secretary, and it seems to me it is a very comprehensive and eloquent statement of the reasons why the Department of Labor supports the principles of fair employment practices legislation. I assume that this statement has been cleared with the Bureau of the Budget and is in accord with the program of the President; is that correct?

Mr. HENNING. Yes.
