NOTICE.

The delay attending the publication of this (the 7th) biennial volume of Transactions is due to causes not within the control of the editor. The pressure upon the Public Printer for the past year has been unusually great, and we have taken our chances. with other equally, and some, perhaps, more, important matter. In point of execution, it is quite the equal of any of the series. Its contents speak for themselves, and need no other reference than is made in the report of the Executive Committee. It has been the constant aim to make our volumes of Transactions valuable as permanent records of facts pertaining to the various departments of industry and agriculture in this State-as far as could be, full of reliable historical data-permanently and constantly valuable to the farmer or other intelligent citizen.

One important paper which should have had a place in this volume is missing. I refer to the report of Vice-President Lee, made on the competition and awards of premiums offered for sheep whose fleeces should yield the largest amount of scoured wool. It was made at the Club House on the Fair Grounds in the evening of October, since which time the Secretary has not been able to find it.
