Mr. MacNaughton moved that when the Senate adjourns today it stands ad journed until tomorrow, Thursday, February 15, at 3:00 o'clock p. m. The motion prevailed.

Mr. Penney moved that the Senate adjourn.

The motion prevailed, the time being 2:48 o'clock p. m.

Accordingly, and in pursuance of the order previously made, the President declared the Senate adjourned until tomorrow, Thursday, February 15, 1923. at 3:00 o'clock p. m.

The Senate met pursuant to adjournment and was called to order by the President.

Religious exercises were conducted by Dr. John W. Laird, President of Albion College.

Presentation of Petitions.

Petition No. 93. By Mr. MacNaughton. Resolution of Michigan State Farm Bureau Board of Delegates opposing the proposed statute that Eastern Standard Time be made the uniform time for the State of Michigan.

The petition was referred to the Committee on State Affairs.

Petition No. 94. By Mr. MacNaughton. Resolution of Michigan State Farm Bureau Board of Delegates favoring enactment of adequate measures for the expansion of the work of bovine tuberculosis eradication now being carried on by the Bureau of Animal Industry of the State.

Petition No. 95. By Mr. MacNaughton. Resolution of Michigan State Farm Bureau Board of Delegates favoring "pay as you go" policy.

Messages From the House.

A message was received from the House of Representatives transmitting
House bill No. 125 (file No. 24), entitled

A bill to prohibit the taking of fish from the inland waters of this State where the public is excluded from taking fish therefrom and fish have been planted therein at public expense and to provide a penalty for the violation of the provisions of this act.

The message informed the Senate that the House of Representatives had passed the bill.

The bill was read a first and second time by its title and referred to the Committee on Conservation.

Reports of Standing Committees.

Mr. Brower submitted the following report:

The Committee on Finance and Appropriations respectfully reports back to the Senate the following entitled bill with amendments, recommending that the amendments be agreed to and that the bill, as thus amended, do pass:

Senate bill No. 35, entitled

A bill to make appropriations for the Board of Examiners of Barbers for the fiscal years ending June 30, 1924, and June 30, 1925, for maintenance, operation and other purposes.

The following are the amendments recommended by the committee:

(1) Section 1, strike out line 4 and insert in lieu thereof "Ten thousand five hundred and five dollars"
