Petition No. 385. By Mr. Osborn. Petition of W. C. Burt and forty-eight other citizens of Vicksburg opposing the bill to prohibit spearing of fish through the ice. The petition was referred to the Committee on Conservation.

Petition No. 386. By Mr. Ross. Petition of Howard Smith and thirteen other citizens of the township of Birch Run, Saginaw County, favoring an income tax. The petition was referred to the Committee on Taxation.

Petition No. 387. By Mr. Ross. Petition of Asa H. Wood and twelve other teachers of Cassopolis Public Schools favoring the Commissioners' Salary Bill and the proposed redistribution of the primary fund and protesting against any amendment to the Consolidated School Law.

To amend sec. 40, Act No. 206, P. A. of 1893-to provide that personal taxes shall be a first lien on personal property.

Messages From The House.

A message was received from the House of Representatives re-returning together with the House amendments thereto, non-concurred in by the Senate, Senate bill No. 58 (file No. 25), entitled

A bill to amend section 14 of chapter 67 of the Revised Statutes of 1846, "Of title to real property by descent," being section 11808 of the Compiled Laws of 1915, as added by Act No. 81 of the Public Acts of 1891.

The message informed the Senate that the House insists on its amendment and asks for a conference on the matter of difference between the two Houses relative to the bill.

Mr. Condon moved that the request of the House of Representatives for a conference be granted.

The motion prevailed.

The President appointed as conferees on the part of the Senate at said conference Senators Osborn, Eldred and Condon.

A message was received from the House of Representatives returning
Senate bill No. 113 (file No. 77), entitled

A bill to amend section 5 of chapter 67 of Act No. 314 of the Public Acts of 1915, known as "The Judicature Act of 1915," being section 14182 of the Compiled Laws of 1915, as amended by Act No. 416 of the Public Acts of 1919, approved May 13, 1919, and to repeal all acts or parts of acts inconsistent herewith.

The message informed the Senate that the House of Representatives had passed the bill and ordered that it be given immediate effect.

The bill was referred to the Secretary for enrollment printing and presentation to the Governor.

A bill to amend section 15 of Act No. 159 of the Public Acts of 1919, entitled as amended, "An act to regulate the taking of fish in the waters of Lakes Superior, Michigan, Huron and Erie, and the bays thereof, and the connecting waters between said lakes within the jurisdiction of this State; to regulate the transportation, sale and possession of fish taken from said waters," as amended by Act No. 225 of the Public Acts of 1921, approved May 17, 1921.

A bill to amend section 9 of chapter 2 of Act No. 283 of the Public Acts of 1909, entitled "An act to revise, consolidate and add to the laws relating to the establishment, opening, improvement, maintenance and use of the public highways and private roads, the condemnation of property and gravel therefor; the building, repairing and preservation of bridges; setting and protecting shade trees, drainage, cutting weeds and brush within this State, and providing for the election and defining the powers, duties and compensation of State, county, township and district highway officials," being section 4326 of the Compiled Laws of 1915.
