ACTS XX. 22-24.

And now, behold, I go bound in the Spirit unto Jerusalem,

not knowing the things that shall befal me there : save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying, that bonds and afflictions abide me. But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I

may finish my course with joy, and the ministry that I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the Gospel of the grace of God.

“My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor your ways my ways,” saith the Lord. This, beloved brethren, is a truth, which, if we are not entirely regardless of the hand of God as ruling and guiding the affairs of men, we must experience every day and during every hour of our life. We make plans, we form resolutions to do this thing or the other, and often in a moment we find them frustrated by the hand of Him who seeth the end from the beginning, whose thoughts and ways are not
