I.-(1, 2, 3, 4, 5.) N. v. THIS spacious earth is all the Lord's,

The Lord's her fulness is;
The world, and they that dwell therein,

By sov'reign right are His.
He framed and fix'd it on the seas,

And His Almighty hand
Upon inconstant floods has made

The stable fabric stand.
But for Himself the Lord of all

One chosen seat design'd ;
O who shall to that sacred hill

Desired admittance find ?
The man whose hands and heart are pure,

Whose thoughts from pride are free ; Who honest poverty prefers

To gainful perjury.
This, this is he, on whom the Lord

Shall shower His blessings down, Whom God his Saviour shall vouchsafe With righteousness to crown.

II.-(7, 8, 9, 10.) N. V. ERECT your heads, eternal gates,

Unfold to entertain
The King of glory; see, He comes

With His celestial train.
Who is this King of glory? who ?

The Lord for strength renown'd;
In battle mighty, o'er His foes

Eternal victor crown'd.
Erect your heads, ye gates, unfold

In state to entertain
The King of glory; see, He comes

With all His shining train.
Who is this King of glory? who ?

The Lord of hosts renown'd; Of glory He alone is King,

Who is with glory crown'd.

1.-(5, 6, 7.)

0. V. THY mercies manifold

Remember, Lord, I pray:
In pity Thou art plentiful,

And so bast been alway.
Remember not the faults

And frailty of my youth;
Call not to mind how ignorant

I have been of Thy truth:
Nor after my deserts

Let me Thy mercy find;
But of Thine own benignity,
Lord, have me in Thy minde

II.-(1. 6. 8.) N. V. TO God, in whom I trust

I list my heart and voice;
O let me not be put to shame,

Nor let my foes rejoice.
Thy mercies and Thy love,

O Lord, recall to mind;
And graciously continue still,

As Thou wert ever, kind.
His mercy and His truth

The righteous Lord displays,
In bringing wand'ring sinners home,

And teaching them His ways.

He the raging floods restrains;
He a King for ever reigns.
God His people shall increase,
Arm with strength, and bless with peace.

I.-(1. 6, 7, 8, 9.) N. V. L ET all the just to God with joy

Their cheerful voices raise, For well the righteous it becomes

To sing glad songs of praise. By His Almighty word at first

The heavenly arch was reard,
And all the beauteous hosts of light

At His command appear’d.
The swelling floods, together roll'd,

He makes in heaps to lie;
And lays, as in a storehouse, safe,

The wat’ry treasures by.
Let earth, and all that dwell therein,

Before Him trembling stand ;
For when He spake the word 'twas made,

'Twas fix'd at His command.

His wrath has but a moment's reign,

His favour no decay :
Your night of grief is recompensed
With joy's returning day.

(1, 2, 3. 8.) N. V. THROUGH all the changing scenes of

In trouble and in joy, [life,
The praises of my God shall still

My heart and tongue employ.
Of His deliv'rance I will boast,

Till all that are distress'd
From my example comfort take,

And charm their griefs to rest.
O magnify the Lord with me,

With me exalt His Name:
When in distress to Him I callid,

He to my rescue came.
O make but trial of His love,

Experience will decide,
How bless'd are they, and only they,

Who in His truth confide.

The riches of Thy mercy, Lord,

Do Thou to us extend ;
Since we for all we want or wish
On Thee alone depend.
