so shall we rejoice and be glad all the days of our life.

Comfort us again now after the time that Thou hast plagued us and for the years wherein we have suffered adversity.

:

Shew Thy servants Thy work and their children Thy glory.

And the glorious Majesty of the Lord our God be upon us prosper Thou the work of our hands upon us, O prosper Thou our handy-work.

RANT, O Lord, that as we are baptized into

the death of Thy blessed Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ, so by continual mortifying our corrupt affections we may be buried with Him; that through the grave, and gate of death, we may pass to our joyful resurrection; for his merits, who died, and was buried, and rose again for us, Thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

GOD, our refuge and strength, who art the author of all godliness; be ready (we beseech Thee) to hear the devout prayers of Thy Church, and grant that those things which we ask faithfully we may obtain effectually; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

LORD our heavenly Father, by whose gracious providence both day and night are governed; we humbly present unto Thee our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving for Thy fatherly goodness towards us this day past, humbly beseeching Thee to continue Thy merciful protection over us this night, that the powers of darkness may have no advantage against us: and forasmuch as Thou hast made the time of our departure out of this life uncertain, grant that we may be always watching for the coming of our Lord to judgment; let the cry of the coming of the Bridegroom be ever in our ears, that when we are summoned hence, we may be ready to enter into the joy of our Lord, and reign with him for ever; through the merits of the same our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

LORD Jesu Christ, who at Thy first coming didst send Thy messenger to prepare Thy way before Thee; grant that the ministers and stewards of Thy mysteries may likewise so prepare and make ready thy way, by turning the hearts of the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; that at Thy second coming to judge the world, we may be found an acceptable people in Thy sight, who livest

and reignest with the Father and the Holy Spirit, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

LORD, raise up, we pray Thee, Thy power,

and come among us, and with great might succour us; that whereas, through our sins and wickedness, we are sore let and hindered in running the race that is set before us, Thy bountiful grace and mercy may speedily help and deliver us; through the satisfaction of Thy Son our Lord, to whom with Thee and the Holy Ghost be honour and glory, world without end. Amen.

LMIGHTY God, who hast promised to hear

the petitions of them that ask in Thy Son's name; we beseech Thee mercifully to incline Thine ears to us that have made now our prayers and supplications unto Thee; and grant that those things which we have faithfully asked according to Thy will, may effectually be obtained, to the relief of our necessity, and to the setting forth of Thy glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Evening Prayers.

LESSED be Thy Holy Name, O Lord our God, who hast shewed us the light of Thy countenance, and caused us to see Thy goodness in the land of the living; who hast preserved us in all our ways, and delivered us from all the dangers and evils of this day, and brought us safe thus far of our life to the beginning of this night. O Lord, we beseech Thee, forsake us not in the vanishing of our days, but still continue the protection of Thy gracious hand upon us; be Thou our light and defence, our guide and guard, through this vale of misery and tears, and the shadow of death, to that holy hill where thine honour and our rest dwelleth. Give us grace to remember the many days of darkness, and prevent the long night of death, by a timely preparation for it, that being always ready and provided whensoever Thou shalt call us to judgment, we may give an acceptable account how we have spent our time here. Lord, as we add days to our days, so we add sins to our
