more; death hath no more dominion over Him: for in that He died, He died unto sin once; but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God: likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin; but alive unto God, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

HRIST is risen from the dead, and become the first-fruits of them that slept: for since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

PSALM XIX.

HE heavens declare the glory of God : and the firmament sheweth His handy-work.

One day telleth another and one night certifieth another.

There is neither speech nor language: but their voices are heard among them.

Their sound is gone out into all lands and their words into the ends of the world.

In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun : which cometh forth as a bridegroom out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a giant to run his

course.

It goeth forth from the uttermost part of the Heaven and runneth about unto the end of it again, and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

The law of the Lord is an undefiled law, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, and giveth wisdom unto the simple.

The statutes of the Lord are right, and rejoice the heart the commandment of the Lord is pure, and giveth light unto the eyes.

The fear of the Lord is clean, and endureth for ever the judgments of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether.

More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey, and the honey-comb.

Moreover, by them is Thy servant taught and in keeping of them there is great reward.

Who can tell how oft he offendeth : O cleanse Thou me from my secret faults.

Keep Thy servant also from presumptuous sins, lest they get the dominion over me so shall I be undefiled, and innocent from the great offence.

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart be alway acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord: my strength and my Redeemer.

PSALM LXXXIV.

HOW amiable are Thy dwellings: Thou
Lord of Hosts!

My soul hath a desire and a longing to enter into the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh rejoice in the living God.

Yea, the sparrow hath found her an house, and the swallow a nest where she may lay her young : even Thy altars, O Lord of Hosts, my King and my God.

Blessed are they that dwell in Thy house : they will be alway praising Thee.

Blessed is the man whose strength is in Thee : in whose heart are Thy ways.

Who going through the vale of misery, use it for a well : and the pools are filled with water.

They will go from strength to strength and unto the God of gods appeareth every one of them in Sion.

O Lord God of Hosts, hear my prayer: hearken, O God of Jacob.

Behold, O God, our defender and look upon the face of Thine anointed.

For one day in Thy courts: is better than a thousand.

I had rather be a door-keeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of ungodli

ness.

For the Lord God is a light and defence: the Lord will give grace and worship, and no good thing shall He withhold from them that live a godly life. O Lord God of Hosts blessed is the man that putteth his trust in Thee.

to send upon Thy servants, the ministers of Thy Holy Word, Thy heavenly blessing, that they may be clad about with all Justice, and that Thy Word spoken by their mouths may have such success, that it may never be spoken in vain. Grant also that we may have grace to hear and receive the same as Thy most Holy Word, and the means of our salvation, that in all our words and deeds we may seek Thy glory, and the increase of thy kingdom, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Scriptures to be written for our learning, grant that we may in such wise hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that by patience, and comfort of Thy Holy Word, we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which Thou hast given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ.
