No. 109. House bill to amend and re-enact section 10 of chapter 9, and section 2 of chapter 155 of the Code of 1873, in reference to the jurisdiction of circuit courts, was reported from the committee for courts of justice, with a recommendation that the house agree to the amendments of the senate.

No. 240. Senate bill entitled an act to repeal section 3 of an act passed in 1801, entitled an act concerning the docks and wharves in the borough of Norfolk.

No. 260. Senate bill entitled an act to incorporate the Southern settlement society, was reported from the committee on propositions and grievances, with amendments.

No. 364. House bill providing for the submission to the people of the counties of this Commonwealth the question of imposing a tax on dogs, reported from the committee on agriculture and mining, was read a first time.

No. 365. House bill to incorporate the Ladies' memorial association of Manassas, reported from the committee on propositions and grievances, was read a first time.

Senate joint resolution, as follows:

Resolved (the house of delegates concurring), That the keeper of rolls be requested to return to the senate senate bill No. 176, to amend and re-enact the 1st section of an act passed March 4, 1872, amending the act to incorporate the Potomac and Manassas railroad company, as amended by an act approved March 6th, 1873, was reported from the committee on roads and internal navigation.

On motion of Mr. Round, the senate joint resolution was laid on the table.

Leave of absence was granted Mr. Winn for one day.

The amendment proposed by the committee for courts of justice, to strike out "two" in 4th line and insert "three," was rejected.
