Departments of the Ariny. The Western Department comprises all West of a line drawn from the Southernmos point of East Florida to the North West extremity of Iake Superior, taking in the whole of Tennessee and Kentucky; and the Eastern Department all East of such line, including Fort Hinbiebag

The Head Quarters of the General-in-Chief are in the District of Columbia
The Head Quarters of the Western Department are at Memphis, Tennessee.
The Head Quarters of the Eastern Department are in the city of New York.
