POSTAL SERVICE SALARY SCHEDULES

SALARY INCREASE FOR EMPLOYEES

COVERED

The national agreement dated July 20, 1971, provides
that all employees covered by the agreement will be paid
according to the new Postal Service (PS Schedule). Postal
Service Order 71-22 provides for those employees not
covered by the agreement who will also be paid according
to the new Postal Service (PS Schedule). This new salary
schedule provides for (5) salary increases of $250, the
second of which was scheduled to be effective October
20, 1971.

BY THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT

However, because of the wage freeze the October 20,
1971, $250 increase was deferred. Therefore, effective
November 14, 1971, each eligible employee is assigned
from the July 20, 1971, PS Schedule to the corresponding
level and step of the October 20, 1971, PS Schedule. The
employee is assigned to the level and step which he held
immediately prior to November 14, 1971.
