CAP. XXXIV.

An Act to amend 39 Vic., Cap. 10, intituled: An Act concerning the opening of certain public roads."

[Assented to 25th June, 1879.]

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

I. Section 2, of 39 Vic., Cap. 10, shall be amended by inserting after the word "river" in the sixth line of said Section 2, the words "or between any highway or river within a municipality to townships in rear thereof."

CAP. XXXV.

An Act to amend 39 Vic.. Cap. 20, in reference to certain animals going at large at certain seasons therefor.

[Assented to 25th Juue, 1879.]

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

I. Section one of the above mentioned Act is amend- sec. 1 ed by striking out all the words after the word "Man- amended. itoba" in the fourth line and adding the following: "Provided, however, that the fine arising from prosecutions under the above mentioned Act shall belong to the municipality where such prosecutions have been made and disposed of if within a municipality."

II. This Act shall not come into force until the first day of March next.

CAP. XXXVI.

An Act to amend Chapter 1, 38 Victoria.

[Assented to 25th June, 1879.]

HER MAJESTY by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

I. The Court of Queen's Bench acting as Court of Controverted Appeal under the Manitoba Controverted Election Act. 1875, may be formed by at least two judges of whom the Chief Justice shall be one, and any provisions of any Act inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed.

CAP. XXXVII.

An Act for granting to Her Majesty certain sums of money required for defraying certain expenses of the Civil Government of the Province of Manitoba for the fiscal year ending 31st December, 1879, and for other purposes connected with the Public Service.

MOST GRACIOUS SOVEREIGN :

WHEREAS it appears by Messages from the Honorable Joseph Edouard Cauchon, Lieutenant-Governor of the Province of Manitoba, and the estimates accompanying the same, that the sums hereinafter mentioned are or may be required to defray certain expenses of the Government of this Province not otherwise provided for, for the fiscal year ending on the thirty-first day of December one thousand eight hundred and seventynine, and for other purposes connected with the public service: May it therefore please Your Majesty that it may be enacted, and it is hereby enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, that

I. From and out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Province of Manitoba, there shall and may be applied a sum not exceeding in the whole one hundred and twenty-five thousand four hundred and fifty dollars. for defraying the several charges and expenses of the Civil Government and public services of this Province, or otherwise, for the financial year ending on the thirty-first day of December, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine, which are set forth in Schedule A annexed to this Act, and for other purposes therein mentioned.

II. Accounts in detail of all moneys expended under the authority of this Act shall be laid before the Legislative Assembly of this Province at the then next session thereof.

III. The said application of all moneys expended under the authority of this Act shall be accounted for to Her Majesty, her heirs and successors, in such a manner and form as Her Majesty, her heirs and successors, shall be pleased to direct.
