Q. Where did you reside on November 5, 1878?—A. In Aaronsburg, in Haines Township.

Q. How long did you reside in Haines Township immediately preceding November 5, 1878?-A. From September 9, 1877, until the present time, continuously.

Q. What is your age?-A. On the 5th of March last I was fifty-four years of age.

Q. Where were you born -A. In Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. . Q: Have you paid a State or county tax within two years and thirty days before the November election, 1878, which was assessed at least sixty days prior thereto!-A. I did; I have receipt from Mr. Rote, col. lector of State and county tax for Haines Township, dated some time in September, 1878; I don't remember the exact date.

Q. Did you vote in Haines Township at the November election, 1878? -A. Yes, sir. Q. For whom did you vote for Congress ?-A. For A. G. Curtin.

Q. How long have you resided in Gregg Township immediately preceding that time :-A. I was born there, and have lived there fifty years. .

Q. Are you acquainted with W. P. Hosterman ?-A. I am.

Q. Where was he born ?-A. In Penn or Haines Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania.

Q. Did he reside in Gregg Township November 5, 1878?-A. Yes, sir; his legal residence was there; he is a student at college. His father lived in Gregg Township for about six years.

Q. Did W. P. Hosterman vote in 'Gregg Township on November 3, 1878 ?-A. He did.

Q. Did he vote on age ?-A. Yes, sir; I was present when he was sworn and voted.

Q. Were you one of the election board for Gregg Township at the election held November 5, 1878 ?-A. I was a clerk at that election.

Q. Do you know Jonas Lingle in Gregg Township ?--A. I do not know him personally; to the best of my recollection, a young man of that name on that day of election, November, 1878, offered to vote at that election on age, was sworn and voted.

Q. Do you know William Lingle in Gregg Township ?-A. I do. Q. Did he reside in Gregg Township November 5, 1878 ?-A. He did. Q. Did he vote at the election in Gregg Township, November 5, 1878 ? -A. I think he did. Q. Do you know W. B. Krape in Gregg Township ?-A. I do.

Q. Is the name when written Wm. Krape and W. B. Krape intended for the same man in your township ?-A. It is; it means the same man. Q. Do you know Henry Bitner of Gregg Township ?-A. I do.

Q. Is he a Democrat or a Republican ?-A. Henry Bitner is a Republican. Q. Do you know William F. Barree?-A. I do.

1. Well, he seemed to be favorable to Yocum's election.
