year.

Q. Where were you born?-A. In Haines Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania.

Q. How old were you on November 5, 1878 ?—A. On the 9th of August, 1978, I was twenty-one years old.

Q. Did you vote at the November election held for Penn Township In 1878-A. Yes, sir; I voted on age.

Q. Did you sign and swear to a partly written and partly-printed affidavit setting forth your age, name, and place of residence, and present the same to the election board before you voted?-A. I did; and left the paper in care of the election board.

Q. For whom did you vote for Congress?-A. A. G. Curtin.

Q. Who gave you the ticket?-A. Squire Reifsnyder.

Q. Was the ticket folded when you got it?-A. Yes, sir.

Q. Did you unfold the ticket?—A. I didn't.

Q. Then you didn't read the ticket?-A. Not that ticket; but I read some others of the same kind.

Q. For whom did you vote for Congress?—A. For A. G. Curtin.
