Senate bill No. 194 (file No. 293), entitled

A bill to amend section 2 of Act No. 213 of the Public Acts of 1909, entitled "An act to regulate the taking of fish in the waters of Lakes Superior, Michigan Huron and Erie, the bays thereof, and the connecting waters between said lakes, within the jurisdiction of this State, and to regulate the transportation, sale and possession of fish taken from said waters," as amended, same being section 7674 of the Compiled Laws of 1915.

A bill to regulate the taking and catching of certain kinds of fish du ring certain seasons of the year in certain streams and rivers of this State.

Senate bill No. 292 (file No. 255), entitled

A bill to authorize the board of State auditors to sell and convey certain real estate.

House bill No. 185 (file No. 151), entitled

A bill to establish and to provide for the conduct and maintenance of work farms, factories or shops, in counties of this State and to authorize the confinement of convicted persons therein and to provide for the punishment of such persons for breaking or attempting to break out; and to permit counties not operating work farms, factories or shops to contract for the care of their prisoners with counties operating such farms, factories or shops.

House bill No. 4 (file No. 177), entitled

A bill to authorize and permit the Board of Control of the Michigan School for the Blind to grant and convey to the city of Lansing certain real estate in said city for street purposes.

House bill No. 281 (file No. 195), entitled

A bill to fix standards for climax baskets for grapes and other fruits and vegetables, and to fix standards for baskets and other containers for small fruits, berries, and vegetables, and to punish violations of the

same.

Has made no amendments thereto, and has directed its chairman to report the same back to the Senate and recommend their passage.

Senate bill No. 280 (file No. 284), entitled

A bill to provide for the establishment of rural agricultural schools by consolidating three or more rural schools in any township or school district; for the organization of school districts in certain cases; for teaching agriculture, manual training and home economics therein, and providing State aid for the maintenance thereof.

And has amended the same as follows:

Amend by striking out of line 4, section 14, the word "thereof" and inserting in lieu thereof the word "thereto."

Senate bill No. 255 (file No. 282), entitled

A bill to amend section 27 of Act No. 205 of the Public Acts of 1887, entitled "An act to revise the laws authorizing the business of banking and to establish a banking department for the supervision of such business," being compilers' section 6116 of the Compiled Laws of 1897, as amended by Act No. 262 of the Public Acts of 1905 and Act No. 322 of the Public Acts of 1907 and Act No. 44 of the Public Acts of 1913. And has amended the same as follows:

1. Amend by inserting in line 22, section 27, after the word "Canada" the words "or in farm loan bonds issued by Federal land banks, under authority of Act of Congress approved July 17, 1916, and amendments thereto, or in the legally authorized bonds of any road district in Michigan organized, constituted and existing by virtue of the provisions of Act No. 59 of the Public Acts of 1915 and amendments thereto : Provided, however, That the total investment by any bank in any such

road district bonds shall not exceed fifty per centum of its capital and surplus:"

2. Amend by inserting in line 62, section 27, after the word "railway" the word "telephone."

Senate bill No. 86 (file No. 283), entitled

A bill to amend section 3 (compilers' section 8604) of Act No. 128 of the l'ublic Acts of 1887, approved May 31, 1887, entitled "An act for the requiring of a civil license in order to marry, and the due registration of the same, and to provide a penalty for the violation of the provisions of the same."

And has amended the same as follows:

1. Amend by striking out of line 1, section 1, the words and figures "Compilers' section 8604."

2. Amend by inserting in line 5, section 1, after the word "same" the words and figures "being section 1137 of the Compiled Laws of 1915."

Senate bill No. 328 (file No. 304),

entitled

A bill authorizing a war loan and providing for the disbursements of the proceeds therefrom and for a war loan sinking fund for the purpose of liquidating the loan.

And has amended the same as follows:

1. Amend by striking out of line 10, section 1, the words "less than five years;" also in same line strike out the word "ten" and insert in lieu thereof the word "twenty."

2. Amend by striking out of line 11, section 1, the word "five" and inserting in lieu thereof the word "four."

3. Amend by striking out of line 4, section 7, the words "five hundred" and inserting in lieu thereof the words "two hundred fifty."

4. Amend by inserting in line 2, section 9, after the word "of" where it appears the second time, the words "the governor, who shall be the chairman of said board."

House bill No. 388 (file No. 181), entitled

A bill to amend section 66 of Act No. 84 of the Public Acts of 1909, entitled "An act to increase the efficiency of the military establishment of the State of Michigan, to make an appropriation therefor, and to repeal all former acts or parts of acts inconsistent with the provisions of this act," being section 941 of the Compiled Laws of 1915. And has amended the same as follows:

Amend by inserting in line 18, section 66, after the word "land" the words "and said Military Board."

House bill No. 282 (file No. 196), entitled

A bill to fix the standard barrel for fruits, vegetables, and other dry commodities.

And has amended the same as follows:

1. Amend by striking out of line 9, section 2, the word "five" and inserting in lieu thereof the word "one."

2. Amend by striking out of lines 9 and 10, section 2, the words "or imprisonment not to exceed six months."

Senate bill No. 293 (file No. 297), entitled

A bill to amend section 2 of Act No. 301 of the Públic Acts of 1913, entitled "An act to provide for the licensing, bonding and regulation of private employment agencies, the limiting of the amount of the fee charged by such agencies, the refunding of such fees in certain cases, the imposing of obligations on persons, firms or corporations which have induced workmen to travel in the hope of securing employment, charg ing the commissioner of labor with the enforcement of this act and empowering him to make rules and regulations, and fixing penalties for the violation hereof," approved May 13, 1913.

And has amended the same as follows:

Amend by inserting in line 9, section 1, after the figures "1913" the words and figures "being compilers' section 5416 of the Compiled Laws of 1915."

And has directed its chairman to report the same back to the Senate, recommending that the amendments be concurred in, and that, as amended, the bills pass.
