Uses space here to deny the truth of statements made by Farm, Stock and Home in circular letters sent to advertisers in The Farmer, and brands the claims made by the Minneapolis paper as

False and Malicious

If you are interested to know by how plain a tale the false charges of a competing paper are put down, write us for particulars. Meantime, you will find interesting information about the pulling powers of the Northwest's largest farm paper in the following letters:

From the World's Greatest Clothing House for Men.

Webb Publishing Company, St. Paul, Minn.

Chicago, Ill., March 16, 1904.

Dear Sirs: During the past two years we have placed the advertising of The Hub and another large mail order house, including in our list nearly every prominent publication in the northwest, and have advertised fully twenty different mail order propositions, all of which have been doubly keyed.

In checking up our returns we find that THE FARMER heads our list in northwest territory, both in number of inquiries and quantity of goods sold, and it has cost us on the whole, pro rata, less to sell goods through THE FARMER than in any other publication west of Chicago. We are confident that you will be pleased to receive this information and we assure you that we take pleasure in giving you the credit THE FARMER has so justly earned. Very truly yours,

Replies at Lowest Cost.

THE HUB, Per F. W. Park, Manager M. O. D

Mr. Wallace C. Richardson, Representing the St. Paul Farmer, Temple Court, New York. Dear Sir:-Some time ago you spoke to me about the St. Paul Farmer, and I am glad to advise you that upon looking up our records this publication was one of the seven papers which paid us sufficiently well last year to warrant our using them again this fall. In fact, last year the replies from St. Paul Farmer cost us less than any other paper, and the percentage of orders from these replies was large. This year the replies from The Farmer cost us a trifle less than last, and while we expect the percentage of orders will be decidedly increased, it is still a little early to judge. Very truly yours,

THE ANGLE LAMP CO.

One of Many Received.

ROSEMOUNT, MINN., April 15, 1904. St. Paul Farmer, St. Paul, Minn.

Dear Sirs:-I enclose with this a letter which I received from Farm, Stock and Home. The letter speaks for itself, but does not interest me, as I tried the Farm, Stock and Home as an advertising medium and was not satisfied with it, and I think less of their method of trying to secure advertising. This much I wish to say: that the Farmer has always sold all the stock I had for sale and I have no desire to change. You are welcome to use this letter and my name also if you desire. Yours truly,

G. A. FORGERSON.

CHARLES A. GREEN
EDITOR AND PUBLISHER OF GREEN'S FRUIT GROWER.
The man who left Banking to Grow Fruit.

Mr. Green was born upon a farm where he lived and worked until of age. Then he became connected with a city bank of which, in time, he became president. He left the bank to begin fruit growing. Green's Fruit Grower was establised twenty-three years ago on the fruit farm which was the scene of Mr. Green's early experience. This publication has, by a steady growth, secured the largest circulation of any horticultural publication in this or any other country. The Association of American Advertisers credited it with 108,350 circulation February 28, 1903. 120,000 Copies are required now for subscribers. Rochester, N.
