On motion of Mr. THOMAS, the reading of the Journal was dispensed with.

No. 62, Senate bill, entitled an act to prohibit the taking of fish in the waters of Wythe county by means of seine nets, &c., was reported from the Committee on Counties, Cities, and Towns.

The following House bills, reported from the Committee on Counties, Cities and Towns, were read a first time:

No. 47, House bill to regulate the killing, capturing, hunting, buying or selling, or offering for sale, of partridges and wild turkeys in the county of Lunenburg, and to prohibit the catching of same in traps or nets and to prohibit the taking or destruction of eggs of same in said county.

No. 48, House bill to prevent the extermination of partridges or quails in the county of Rockbridge.

No. 49, House bill to amend an act to provide for working the roads in Northampton county, approved March 2d, 1892.

No. 50, House bill to authorize the mayor and town council of West Point to borrow money for public improvements.

By Mr. RUSSELL: A bill to amend and re-enact an act approved February 21st, 1882, entitled an act to allow Abel A. Lake to erect a wharf at Franklin City, in Accomac county.

By Mr. RUSSELL: A bill to allow C. S. Witham & Brother to erect a wharf on Messongo creek, in the county of Accomac. To the Committee on Asylums and Prisons:

By Mr. BOLLING: A bill to furnish thirty convicts to work on public roads of Bedford county with certain provisions relating thereto.

To the Committee on Finance:

By Mr. FENTRESS: A bill for the relief of the creditors of the late Merchants and mechanics savings bank of the city of Portsmouth.

By Mr. NEWBERNE: A bill for the relief of the Port Norfolk land company.

By Mr. PAXTON: A bill to allow the late and present treasurers of Rockbridge county and their deputies further time in which to collect levies and taxes which have been already accounted for by said treasurers.

The morning hour having expired, the House proceeded to the business on the calendar.

No. 62, Senate bill entitled an act to prohibit the taking of fish in the waters of Wythe county by means of seine nets, &c.,

came up.

On motion of Mr. SANDERS, the bill was amended by inserting after the word "waters," in second line, the words "of Reed creek and its tributaries."

The bill as amended was ordered to its third reading.

The amendment being presently engrossed, the bill was read a third time and passed.

On motion of Mr SANDERS, the title was amended to read

The following House bills were, on motions severally made by Messrs. WEAVER, PRIDDY and COLEMAN, placed on the calendar, and were read a first time.

No. 59, House bill for relief of A. B. Batte, late treasurer of Greenesville county.

No. 60, House bill to authorize the treasurer of Charlotte county to postpone sale of lands for taxes delinquent in the year of 1892.

No. 61, House bill to protect pheasants and wild turkeys in Spotsylvania county.

Mr. LOGAN offered the following concurrent resolution:

Resolved (the Senate concurring), That the two houses will proceed this day, at 12:30 o'clock P. M., to the election of a city judge of Roanoke, and also to the election of a county judge of Roanoke, in the order in which they appear in this resolutionWhich was agreed to.

Ordered, That Mr. LOGAN carry the resolution to the Senate and request their concurrence.
