Mr. Ingersoll moved to reconsider the vote by which the

House refused to pass the joint resolution;

Which motion prevailed.

On motion of Mr. Ingersoll,

The joint resolution was laid on the table.

Mr. Ingersoll again offered the following:

Whereas, The Hon. William Purcell, a member of this House from the city of Detroit, and Hon. S. W. Yawkey, a member from the second representative district of Saginaw county, have remained absent from their seats in this House during this entire session, without any known good cause;

And whereas, Their several constituencies are thus deprived of representation on this floor; therefore,

Resolved, That the Sergeant-at-Arms be dispatched for those gentlemen, and that they be brought within the bar of this House.

Mr. Miles moved to amend by adding to the resolution "and also Messrs. H. G. Williams, Mason and J. A. Williams."

Mr. Romeyn demanded the yeas and nays on the amendment. The demand was seconded.

Mr. Sanford called for a division of the question, that the vote might be taken separately on each name embraced in the amendment.

The question being first upon adding the name of Mr. H. G. Williams, the same was not agreed to, by yeas and nays, as follows:

The question being upon adding the name of Mr. Mason, the same was not agreed to, by yeas and nays, as follows:

The question recurring upon the adoption of the resolution, Mr. Millington demanded the yeas and nays.

The resolution was laid on the table.

Mr. G. G. Briggs moved that the House adjourn until Tuesday next at 12 o'clock M.;

Which motion did not prevail.

On motion of Mr. Romeyn,

The House adjourned until Monday morning at 9 o'clock.

Mr. Walker moved that leave of absence be granted to Mr. Cameron until afternoon;

Which motion prevailed.

Mr. R. V. Briggs moved that leave of absence be granted to Mr. Stewart until to-morrow morning;

Which motion did not prevail.

Mr. Davis moved that leave of absence be granted to Mr. Murray until to-morrow morning;

Which motion did not prevail.

Mr. B. Clark moved that leave of absence be granted to Mr. Wagner until this afternoon;

Which motion did not prevail.

On motion of Mr. Klein,

The House adjourned until 3 o'clock this afternoon.
