Fireworks, common: Fireworks other than those specifically enumer

ated here are classed as special fireworks (see Class B explosives). Fireworks, common: (Colored box and cone fire, total pyrotechnic composition not to exceed 100 grams each in weight.)

(Cone fountains, total pyrotechnic composition not to exceed 50 grams each in weight.) (Cylindrical fountains,

total pyrotechnic composition not to exceed 75 grams each in weight. The inside tube diameter shall not exceed 3/4 inch.) (Helicopter type rockets,

total pyrotechnic composition not to exceed 20 grams each in weight.)

(Mines and shells of

which the mortar is an integral part, total pyrotechnic composition not to exceed 40 grams each in weight.) (Sky rockets with sticks,

total pyrotechnic composition not to exceed 20 grams each in weight. The rocket sticks must be securely fastened to the casing.) (Roman candles, not to exceed ten balls spaced uniformly in the tube, total pyrotechnic composition not to exceed 20 grams each in weight.) (Sparklers and dipped sticks, total pyrotechnic composition not to exceed 100 grams each in weight. Pyrotechnic composition containing any chlorate or perchlorate shall not exceed five grams.) (Wheels, total pyrotechnic composition not to exceed 60 grams in weight, for each driver unit, but there may be any number of drivers on any one wheel. The inside bore of driver tubes shall not be over1⁄2 inch.) (Firecrackers and

lutes, with casings, the external dimensions of which do not exceed one and one-half inches in length or onequarter inch in diameter, total pyrotechnic composition not to exceed 2 grains each in weight.)

Common fireworks are manufactured articles designed primarily for the purpose of producing visible or audible pyrotechnic effects by combustion or explosion. Common fireworks must be in the finished state, exclusive of mere ornamentation, as supplied to the retail trade and must be so constructed and packed that loose pyrotechnic composition will not be present in packages in transportation.

No component part of any article listed here which is designed to produce an audible effect (other than propelling or expelling charges) shall contain pyrotechnical composition in excess of 2 grains in weight.

Do not stow in the same compartment with any inflammable liquid or solid, inflammable compressed gas, or combustible organic material.

Each outside container must be plainly marked: "Common fireworks-Handle carefully-Keep fire away. Fireworks, such as sparklers or fuses, with match tip or head, or similar igniting point or surface, must have each individual tip, head, or similar igniting point or surface entirely covered and securely protected against accidental contact or friction.

No label required. Stowage:

"On deck under cover." "Tween decks readily accessible."

"Under deck away from heat." Outside containers:

Wooden barrels or kegs (ICC11B) not over 100 lb. gr. wt. Wooden boxes (ICC-15A, 15B, 16A, 19A) not over 100 lb. gr.

wt. Fiberboard boxes (ICC-12B) not over 65 lb. gr. wt. Firecrackers, Chinese, may also be shipped in the package in which they are imported, provided these packages consist of wooden boxes, or fiberboard boxes (ICC-12B) in good condition completely covered with strong matting, and do not weigh more than 100 lb. gr. wt.

Do not stow in the same compartment with high explosives, inflammable liquids, inflammable solids, inflammable compressed gases or combustible organic material.

Each outside container must be plainly marked: "Hand Signal Devices", "Signal Flares", "Smoke Candles", "Smoke Grenades", "Smoke Pots", "Smoke Signals", "Very Signal Cartridges" as the case may be and with the additional marking: "Handle CarefullyKeep Fire Away."

Percussion fuzes, combination fuzes, and time fuzes are devices used to ignite the powder charges of ammunition or the black powder bursting charges of projectiles.

Tracer fuzes and tracers are devices which are attached to projectiles and contain a slow-burning composition to show the flight of the projectiles at night. Detonating fuzes, Class C explosives, are used in the military service to detonate high explosive bursting charges of projectiles, mines, bombs, torpedoes and grenades.

Do not stow in the same compartment with any inflammable liquids, inflammable solids and oxidizing materials, corrosive liquids, or inflammable compressed gases.

Each outside box will be plainly marked with the appropriate descriptive name of the contents as: "Percussion fuzes-Handle carefully."

"Combination fuzes-Handle carefully."
