Finding how many times one number is contained

in another is called Division.

The sign is used to indicate division. It is read divided by. Thus the expression 8÷4=2, is read 8 divided by 4 is equal to 2.

9. At 2 cents apiece, how many lemons can be bought for 12 cents? 12÷2 ?
