of the enemy,

those who are deceived by the wiles and have forsaken the congregation of Thy Church, or been carried away by the vanity of error; and restore them of Thy mercy to the unity of the truth in the one fold of Thy holy Church; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O LORD, we pray Thee, sow the seed of Thy Word in our hearts, and send down upon us Thy heavenly grace, that we may bring forth the fruits of the Spirit, and at the great day may be gathered by Thy holy angels into Thy garner; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Then shall be said the Lord's Prayer:

OUR Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be

done in

earth, as it is in heaven. Give us

this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

THE grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Ghost, be with us all evermore. Amen.

TUESDAY EVENING.

The Psalms or Lesson being ended, the Reader shall say,

V. I will lay me down in peace, and take my rest;

R. For it is Thou, Lord, only that makest me to dwell in safety.

V. The darkness is no darkness with Thee, but the night is as clear as the day.

R. The darkness and the light to Thee are both alike.

V. I will remember Thee upon my bed, and meditate upon Thee in the night watches.

R. O Thou Shepherd of Israel, who neither slumberest nor sleepest, keep us safely this night under the shadow of Thy wings.

LET US PRAY.

ALMIGHTY GOD, the fountain of all wisdom, who knowest our necessities before we ask, and our ignorance in asking; We beseech Thee to have compassion upon our infirmities; and those things which, for our unworthiness, we dare not, and for our blindness we cannot ask, vouchsafe to give us, for the worthiness of Thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

ALMIGHTY and merciful God, to whom the night is as clear as the day; We humbly commend to Thy fatherly love and care ourselves, our souls and bodies, and all our relations and friends. Defend us from all danger, and grant unto us abiding trust in Thy mercy. We praise Thee for the many blessings which we have this day received at Thy hands, and we pray for the continuance of Thy

D

lovingkindness towards us during this night, and for the remainder of our lives. Keep us in Thy holy faith and fear, and bring us through all the changes and chances of this mortal life to Thine eternal joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Then shall follow the Collect for the day:

ALMIGHTY GOD, who hast promised to hear the petitions of them that ask in Thy Son's Name; We beseech Thee mercifully to incline Thine ears to us, that have made now our prayers and supplications unto Thee; and grant that those things which we have faithfully asked according to Thy will, may effectually be obtained, to the relief of our necessity, and to the setting forth of Thy glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
