FANCY CARDS SPECIALLY DESIGNED.*

MOTHER GOOSE AND HER GOSLINGS

S a very amusing card game, consisting of thirty-six cards to the pack; namely, Mother Goose, the Farmer, Flyaway, Twentyone Goslings; six Foxes; three Ponds, and

three Homes. After having written out

these names on the thirty-six cards, one of the company is chosen as dealer, and takes the card and name of Mother Goose. All the other cards are then dealt round to the players. Mother Goose calls upon any one of the players she likes to fix on for "Flyaway,"-who, on playing it is to receive, in return, one counter from Mother Goose; but if the player called upon cannot play Flyaway, a forfeit must be paid by him or her to the pool, and he or she is entitled to call upon another player, who must either play it or pay a forfeit; and so on until Flyaway comes forth, when the person playing it takes up all the forfeits and pays Mother

The pictorial packs of Cards are published by Messrs. DEAN & SON, 160A, Fleet Street, E.C., but plain Cards, with the names merely written on, will answer as well.

Goose one for not coming earlier. And the person who has successfully asked for Flyaway takes it up. Flyaway, however, is supposed to take flight, by a shuffle with the cards of the person who has won her; and each person now draws a card from the next person's cards, all round, so that no one can tell where Flyaway is.

Mother Goose then calls upon some other player for Flyaway (not the person first called upon), and the game proceeds as before.

If the player who is called upon for Pond, plays Fox,
