The Reporter cannot permit this volume to go into the hands of his brethren of the profession without an accompanying apology to them for the many gross errors it contains, as well as for the unusual delay in its appearance. Both have been caused by circumstances not altogether within his control; and he can only add that whatever perplexity may be the result to them it can not equal the regret and mortification he experiences.
The more important of the errors will be found referred to, and corrected, under the head of “Errata.”
The word defendant, in line 21, page 59, should read plaintiff.
plaintiff in error, and Wm. A. Moore as attorney for defendant
in error. The word Detroit, in the marginal heading on each right hand
page from 77 to 151, inclusive, should read Lansing. In the tenth line of the first head note on page 81, instead of
the words the legal title thereto was read the rights of legal
ownership were. The word Trotchell, in the title of the case on each page from
128 to 186, inclusive, should read People. On page 231, instead of Albert Williams, Attorney General, and
G. V. N. Lothrop, read H. C. Knight and C. I. Walker. On page 303, the name of G. V. N. Lothrop should also appear
as counsel for complainant. On page 319, the name of H. C. Knight should also appear as
counsel for plaintiff in error. On page 320, the name of G. V. N. Lothrop should appear as
counsel for defendant in error. In second line on page 325, 90 should read 91. In eighteenth line on page 327, the word Charles should read Charless. I On page 365, the name of J. W. A. S. Cullen should also appear
as counsel for plaintiff in error. On page 368, the name of G. V. N. Lothrop should also appear
