I appreciate the larger effort towards electronic archiving of earlier works and especially those related to the word of God.
This book by Matthew Henry and William Patton gives a view of the work
of the Shorter Catechism (prepared by the Westminster Assembly, published in 1647) and provides additional scriptural support for the catechism content.
As this text was written in 1835, it captures the attitude and view of Christians of the period as they applied the word of God to their life and work.
It is helpful to span the work of centuries to see the Spirit of Christ inform and influence the thinking of His Church and for me to be in a position to affirm the testimony of Scripture in 2007.
Thank the Lord !
