Also: Senate bill No. 211 (file No. 197), entitled A bill to amend sections 2, 3, 4, 5 and 9 of Act No. 338 of the Public Acts of 1907, entitled "An act to provide for the examination, regulation, licensing, and registration of persons engaged in the practice of dentistry, and for the punishment of offenders against this act, and to repeal all acts and parts of acts in conflict herewith;" Has amended the same as follows: 1. By striking out all of line 29 except the words "to have" and all of line 30 of section 3 and inserting in lieu thereof the words "a diploma from an accredited high school, college or university of equal standard." 2. By striking out all of section 4 after the word "laboratory" in line 16 down to the word "the" in line 19. 3. By inserting in line 19 of section 5 after the word "paper" the words "During the said period of six months if any unsuccessful applicant so desire, he or she may, upon the deposit of the sum of fifty dollars with said Board of Dental Examiners, have the privilege of having his or her examination paper re-read by said Board of Dental Examiners in the presence of his or her representative; and if upon said re-reading, said applicant's paper shall be determined by said Board of Dental Examiners to be of sufficient percentage to entitle the said applicant to the license to practice in this State, then said Board of Dental Examiners shall refund to said successful applicant the sum of fifty dollars deposited with said Board of Dental Examiners, for the purpose of securing a re-reading of said successful applicant's paper. 4. By striking out all of section 5 after the word "re-examination" in line 26. Also: Senate bill No. 374 (file No. 349), entitled A bill to declare the use of water for the production of power by municipal corporations and by public utility companies, a public use, and to provide for the condemnation of lands and flowage rights thereon by such corporations and companies in connection with such use; Has amended the same as follows: 1. By striking out of line 1 of section 1 the words "a municipal corporation or." 2. By striking out of line 3 of section 1 the words "used by said municipal corporation, or." 3. By striking out of line 1 of section 2 the words "municipal corporation, or any." 4. By striking out of line 1 of section 3 the words "municipal corporation or." 5. By striking out of line 9 of section 3 the words "said municipal corporation or." 6. By striking out of line 2 of section 4 the words "municipal corporation or." 7. By inserting in line 1 of section 7 after the word "any" the word "general." Also: House bill No. 396 (file No. 191), entitled A bill to repeal section 22, and to amend sections 9, 11, 12, 14, 17, 20, 21, 26, 28, 30, 31, 34, 35, 36 and 38 of Act No. 184 of the Public Acts of 1893, entitled "An act to provide for the enrollment, organization, equipment, maintenance and discipline of the naval militia of the State," as amended by Act No. 211 of the Public Acts of 1895, Act No. 6 of the Public Acts of 1898, Act No. 220 of the Public Acts of 1905, and Act No. 90 of the Public Acts of 1909; Has amended the same as follows: By striking out of line 6 of section 35 the word "active." And has directed its chairman to report the same back to the Senate, asking that the amendments be concurred in, and recommend that, as amended, the bills pass. The committee of the whole has also had under consideration the following: House bill No. 39 (file No. 5), entitled A bill to provide for formulating and establishing a uniform system of accounting in the several departments of the State government, including State institutions, and in every county office in each county in the State; providing for examinations into the financial affairs of such departments, institutions and county offices, and for the appointment of a public examiner, prescribing his powers and duties, and repealing all acts or parts of acts contravening any of the provisions of this act; But not having gone through therewith, has directed its chairman to report progress thereon and asks leave to sit again for the consideration of the bill.
