further, That any said soldier, sailor or marine, may voluntarily pay to the said board of managers any sum of money voluntarily offered by him and the said board is hereby authorized to accept such money and pay the same into the State Treasury on or before the fifth day of each month to be credited to the general fund in the State Treasury. The said board of managers is hereby vested with authority to retain from such money a sum not to exceed twenty-five dollars to be used for expenses incident to the burial of any such soldier, sailor or marine." Recommend that the amendment be concurred in, and that when so amended the bill pass.

A bill to protect turnpike, gravel or macadam roads, and to provide a penalty for its violation;

By striking out section 1 and inserting in lieu thereof a new section to stand as section 1, and to read as follows:

"Section 1. That it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to haul over any turnpike, gravel or macadam road, a load on any vehicle the combined weight of which load and vehicle, including driver, shall be more than two tons and less than three tons unless said vehicle shall have tires at least three inches in width, nor shall any loads be bauled on such roads the combined weight of which load and vehicle, including driver, shall be greater than three tons unless said vehicle shall have tires four inches or more in width."

Recommend that the amendment be concurred in, and that when so amended the bill pass.
