A bill to amend section 40 of Act No. 118 of the Public Acts of 1893, entitled "An act to revise and consolidate the laws relative to the State Prison, the State House of Correction, and the Branch of the State Prison in the Upper Peninsula, and to the House of Correction and Reformatory at Ionia, and the government and discipline thereof, and to repeal all acts inconsistent therewith," the same being compiler's section 2119 of the Compiled Laws of 1897;

With the recommendation that the bill pass.

The report was accepted and adopted and the committee discharged. Mr. Miller moved that the rules be suspended and that the bill be placed on its immediate passage.

The motion prevailed, two-thirds of the Senators present voting therefor.

The bill was then read a third time, and pending the taking of the vote on the passage thereof,

Mr. Moriarty moved that the further consideration of the bill be indefinitely postponed.

The motion prevailed, a majority of the Senators-elect voting therefor.
