The Sergeant-at-Arms announced that the Senate Chamber had been prepared for the executive session.

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.

By the Committee on Executive Business.

The Committee on Executive Business to which was referred the following nominations to office by the Governor :

Dr. Henry C. Maynard, Hartford, county of Van Buren, as a member of the State Board of Registration in Medicine for the term beginning Oct. 1, 1911, and ending September 30, 1915;

Dr. A. M. Hume, Owosso, county of Shiawassee, as a member of the State Board of Registration in Medicine for the term beginning October 1, 1911, and ending September 30, 1915;

Dr. Bret Nottingham, Lansing, county of Ingham, as a member of the State Board of Registration in Medicine for the term beginning October 1, 1911 and ending September 30, 1915;

Dr. Joseph A. Crowell, Iron Mountain, county of Dickinson, as a member of the State Board of Registration in Medicine for the term beginning October 1, 1911, and ending September 30, 1915;

Dr. A. W. Alvord, Battle Creek, county of Calhoun, as a member of the State Board of Registration in Medicine for the term beginning October 1, 1911 and ending September 30, 1915;

Respectfully reports that it has the same under consideration and recommends that the Senate advise and consent to the said nominations to office.

Mr. Miller moved that representatives of the press be admitted to the executive session.

The motion prevailed.

Mr. Fowle moved that the Senate advise and consent to the foregoing nominations to office, and that the vote on said nominations be taken collectively.

The motion prevailed.

The Senate then advised and consented to the foregoing nominations to office, a majority of the Senators present voting therefor, by yeas and nays, as follows:

Mr. Miller moved that the Secretary be directed to secure from the Attorney General an opinion as to whether or not the warden of the Marquette prison is a civil officer, within the meaning of the Constitution as it relates to the impeachment of State officers.

The motion prevailed.

Mr. White moved that the executive session close.

The motion prevailed, the time being 5:45 o'clock p. m.
