Mr. URBAN, Aug. 3. ***** FEAR I fhall tire your I readers with my account of Lovelace; but, having begun it, I cannot let it go imperfe&t; and, befides, have perhaps fome faint hopes that (through the channel of your publica tion, which is fo much attended to) this elegant poet may be brought to the recollection of the Editors of the Biographia Britannica, from the first edition of which he feems to be unfairly excluded. A fecond volume of Lucafa, containing his pofthumous poems, was published by his brother, Dudley Pofthumus Lovelace in 1659, London, printed by William Godbid, for Clement Darby. It has the following Dedication : "Tothe Right Hon. JOHN LOVELACE, Efq.* "SIR, “ Lucasta (fair, but hapless maid !) This pofthumous publication (like thing from it worthy of praife, uplefs it be the following little tranflation: King James, turned the affront to his own "Si Jaques, le Roi du fçavoir, Voila la caufe infallible; Sure this the caufe hath been, And fo not to be feen +" These poems are followed by Elegies to the Author's memory, collected alfo with a frontifpiece, defigned by Lely, by his brother. London, printed 1660, and engraved by Faithorne. The wiiters are, Charles Cotton, James Howe!t, El.
