SIR: In pursuance with the provisions of section 4 of the act making appropriations for the legislative, executive, and judicial expenses of the Government, approved May 22, 1908, I have the honor to transmit herewith a statement showing in detail the officers or employees (other than special agents, inspectors, or employees, who in the discharge of their regular duties are required constantly to travel) of the Navy Department who have traveled on official business from Washington to points outside the District of Columbia, during the fiscal year ending June 30, 1909, giving in each case the full title of the official or employee, the destination or destinations of such travel, the business or work on account of which the same was made, and the total expense to the United States charged in each case.
