DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, TO WIT :

BE IT REMEMBERED, that on the twenty-second day of January, in the year of our Lurd one thousand eight bundred

and thirty-one, and of the Independence of the United States of America, the fifty-fourth, PETER FORCE, for the said District, lias deposited in this office the title of a book, the righi wherenf he claims as proprietor, in the words following, to wit :

The National Calendar, for 1831 ; Vol. 9. By Peter Force. Published annually

In conformity to the act of the Congress of the United States, entitled

an act for the encouragement of learning, by securing the copies of maps, charts, and books, to the authors and proprietors of such copies during ile times therein mentioned"-and also to the act, entitled “ an act supplementary to an act, entitled 'an set for the encouragement of learning, by se. curing the copies of maps, charts, and books, to the authors and proprietors of such copies during the times therein mentioned,' and extending the ben. efits thereof to the aris of designing, engraving, and etching historical and other prints.”
