It is a source of mach gratification to the committee, to find such a variety of articles, combining use and ornament, and they indeed display in their manufacture much labor and Ingenuity. We have not time, and it would be mnecessary to mention ey ny arti de exhibited, and it is equally impossible to single out those deserving particular attention, where there is so moch that demands our notice; but we ever hope that the cesira Jaanifes.27 both by old and young to increase an interest in ho e manufbeiure, may each year grov stronger, and that a love of the beautiful may be cherished not only in preserving some of nature's own handiwork, but also in manufacturing the useful as well as the ornamental.

All which is respectfully sulanitted,

Mrs. AMOS CHASE, for the Committee.
