O Lord, our Heavenly Father, Who hast safely brought us to the light and life of another day; Defend us in the same with Thy mighty power, and grant that this day we fall into no sin, neither run into any kind of danger, but that all our doings, being ordered by thy governance, may be righteous in thy sight.

Author of peace, lover of concord, in knowledge of Whom standeth our eternal life, Whose service is perfect freedom, defend us Thy servants in all assaults of our spiritual foes; that we, surely trusting in Thy defence, may not fear the power of any adversaries.

Mighty Ruler of the Universe, Who dost from Thy Throne behold in mercy all the dwellers upon earth; most heartily we beseech Thee with Thy favour to look upon and bless Thy servants the President of the United States, the Governor of this Commonwealth, and all others in Authority; and so replenish them with the Grace of Thy Holy Spirit that they may always incline to Thy will and walk in Thy way. Almighty and most merciful Father, we confess our wickedness, and pray that we may be truly sorry for our sin. We have sinned against Heaven and before Thee. Have mercy,

O God, after Thy great goodness and according to the multitude of Thy mercies do away our offences. We are not worthy to gather up the crumbs that fall from Thy table. We are not worthy that Thou shouldst come under our roof; for the spirit of evil hath entered in and defiled the temple, which Thou didst consecrate to be the habitation of Thy spirit of holiness and love. Father of Heaven, Thou didst make us to be like Thee. Thou seest how it is with us. Thou didst give us a whole life in which to serve Thee and to advance our hopes of heaven, and we have been so careless of heaven and the pleasant ways that lead to Thee; so wasteful both of our time and talents, that we have too often thrown away Thy precious gifts on our vanities and sins.
