that we are, and all that we have, our pleasure and our pain, our work and our rest. We commend to Thy All-patient Charity, all that we have done, all that we have tried to do, and all that we must leave unfinished when our time on earth is done. Accept, Father, whatever is worthy, and pardon all that is amiss. And when the lamp of life burns low, and we must pass from hence, keep clear in our soul the pious remembrance that Thou art with us in the deep and wilt bring us through the darkness into the clear light of the calm and perfect peace of Heaven, through Jesus Christ, our Leader and our Lord. Amen.

Daily Care.

Dear Lord and Father of mankind, support us, we pray Thee, all the day long of this earthly life, until the shadows lengthen about us, and this busy world is hushed in our ears, and the fever of our life is over. Then, Father, when the work which Thou didst send us into this world to do, is all done, grant us a quiet rest, and a glad reunion with those who are gone before, and a holy life full of light and hope, of joy and peace, in blessed communion with Thee and our loved ones for ever. Amen.

The Welcoming Word.

Almighty and most merciful Father, we look to Thee. Thou art with us in the darkness as in the light, in the night of sorrow, as in the hour of joy. We thank Thee for this precious

boon of life, and the opportunity it affords us to make ourselves fit and meet for the larger and nobler uses of the world to come. Father, the hour is coming when death shall dissolve the tie which binds us to this earthly lot and Thou wilt call us into that wonderful life which awaits us in the world above. But Lord, we

have no fear, for all our trust is placed in Thee. Help us to be faithful, brave and patient, stedfast, strong and true, so that when that hour comes, like workmen unashamed, we may lay aside our work with dignity and grace, and hear Thy welcome voice saying, Well done, good and faithful. Thou too hast overcome. Thou shalt sit with me in my throne. Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.

Amen.

Psalm 1

1 Blessed is the man that hath not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stood in the way of sinners and hath not sat in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord : and in His law will he exercise himself day and night.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the waterside : that will bring forth his fruit in due season.

:

4 His leaf also shall not wither and look, whatsoever he doeth, it shall prosper.

5 As for the ungodly it is not so with them : but they are like the chaff which the wind scattereth away from the face of the earth.

6 Therefore the ungodly shall not be able to stand in the judgment: neither the sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

7 But the Lord knoweth the way of the
