Mr. Fox moved to amend the title so as to read as follows: Joint resolution authorizing the Board of State Auditors to investigate, examine, settle and pay any claim found to be due the Presque Isle lumber company of Hammonds Bay, Presque Isle county, Michigan, against the State of Michigan for damages, or compensation, arising from the seizure by the trespass agents of the State of Michigan of a certain lot of cedar cut by it on portions of the north east quarter of section 35, north, range 2 east, claimed by the said trespass agents to have been a trespass upon State lands;

Which motion prevailed.

The title as amended was then agreed to.

By a vote of two-thirds of all the Senators elect, the bill was ordered to take immediate effect

A bill to establish a permanent State weather service in this State cooperating with the weather bureau, U. S. Department of Agriculture, for the purpose of the collection and compilation of climatic and meteorologic

data, the accurate and rapid dissemination of daily weather forecasts, also frost and cold wave warnings, and weather crop conditions, the same to be used for the benefit of the agricultural, commercial and scientific interests of the State, and making an appropriation therefor,
