Act Enrolled and Presented to Governor.

The Secretary announced the enrollment printing and presentation to the Governor on April 20, 1923, for his approval of the following named act:

Senate Enrolled Act No. 40 (being Senate bill No. 179, file No. 168)

An act to amend section 5 of Act No. 40 of the Public Acts of 1899, entitled "An act to revise the laws providing for the incorporation of Protestant Episcopal Churches," being section 10932 of the Compiled Laws of 1915, as amended by Act No. 62 of the Public Acts of 1917.

Messages From the House.

A message was received from the House of Representatives returning
Senate bill No. 37 (file No. 127), entitled

A bill to make appropriations for the Michigan State Board of Examiners for Registration of Architects, Engineers and Surveyors for the fiscal years ending June 30, 1924, and June 30, 1925, for maintenance, operation and other purposes. The message informed the Senate that the House has amended the bill as follows:

1. Amend by striking out of section 1, line 4, the words "six thousand nine hundred seventy-five," and inserting in lieu thereof the words "seven thousand nine hundred fifty."

2. Amend by striking out of section 1, lines 5 and 6, the words "six thousand nine hundred and seventy-five" and inserting in lieu thereof the words "seven thousand nine hundred fifty."

3. Amend by striking out of section 1, line 12, the amounts "1,800.00-1,800.00" and inserting in lieu thereof the amounts "1,900.00--1,900.00."

4. Amend by striking out of section 1, line 13, the amounts "$4,200.00$4,200.00" and inserting in lieu thereof the amounts "$4,300.00-$4,300.00."

5. Amend by striking out of section 1, line 14, the amounts "850.00-850.00" and inserting in lieu thereof the amounts "1,200.00-1,200.00."

6. Amend by striking out of section 1, line 16, the amounts "1,375.00-1,375.00" and inserting in lieu thereof the amounts "1,700.00-1,700.00.”

7. Amend by striking out of section 1, line 17, the amounts "50.00-50.00" and inserting in lieu thereof the amounts "250.00-250.00."

8. Amend by striking out of section 1, line 18, the amounts "$6,975.00$6,975.00" and inserting in lieu thereof the amounts “$7,950.00-$7,950.00."

9. Amend by inserting in section 1, line 20, after the word "stated," the words "Provided, That in no case shall the expenditures of said board exceed the fees collected by it."

10. Amend by striking out of section 2, lines 2, 3 and 4, the words "and the disbursing officer of the Michigan State Board of Examiners for Registration of Architects, Engineers and Surveyors shall render his accounts therefor."

The message further informed the Senate that as thus amended the House has passed the bill and ordered that it take immediate effect.

The question being on concurring in the amendments made to the bill by the House,

A bill to make appropriations for the Michigan State Library for the fiscal years ending June 30, 1924, and June 30, 1925, for maintenance, operation and other purposes.

The message informed the Senate that the House has amended the bill as follows:

1. Amend by striking out of section 2, lines 2 and 3, the words "and the disbursing officer of the Michigan State Library shall render his accounts therefor." The message further informed the Senate that as thus amended the House has passed the bill and ordered that it take immediate effect.

A bill to prohibit the taking of fish with nets out of certain portions of Grand Traverse Bay.

The following are the amendments recommended by the committee:

1. Amend the title to read as follows:

"A bill to prohibit the taking of perch with nets or the use of any nets of a smaller mesh than four inches, out of certain portions of Grand Traverse Bay." 2. Strike out all of lines 1, 2 and 3, section 1, and insert in lieu thereof the following: "Hereafter it shall be unlawful to take perch with nets, or to take fish with any nets of a smaller mesh than four inches, as used, out of those portions of Grand Traverse Bay described as follows:"

A bill to authorize the board of education of any school district to establish and maintain schools or classes for those who are crippled, to provide for the expense of the same, to provide for the supervision of such schools or classes, and other help to carry out the provisions of this act.

The following is the amendment recommended by the committee:

Section 1, line 1, strike out the word "shall" and insert in lieu thereof the word "may."

A bill to amend section 46 of Act No. 206 of the Public Acts of 1893, entitled "An act to provide for the assessment of property and the levy and collection of taxes thereon, and for the collection of taxes heretofore and hereafter levied; making such taxes a lien on the lands taxed, establishing and continuing such lien, providing for the sale and conveyance of lands delinquent for taxes, and for the inspection and disposition of lands bid off to the State and not redeemed or purchased; and to repeal Act No. 200 of the Public Acts of 1891, and all acts and parts of acts in anywise contravening any of the provisions of this act," being section 4042 of the Compiled Laws of 1915.
