A bill to provide for an annual specific tax upon bonds, notes or other evidences of debt, hereafter issued by the State of Michigan, or by any county, city, village, township, school district or road district within this State; to provide for the administration of the provisions of this act, and to repeal Act No. 88 of the Public Acts of 1909, being Compiler's sections 4194 and 4195 of the Compiled Laws of 1915, and all other general, special or local acts or parts thereof contravening any of the provisions of this act.

The message informed the Senate that the House of Representatives has passed the bill.

The bill was read a first and second time by its title and referred to the Committee on Banks and Corporations.

(1) Section 1, line 3, strike out the figures "$563,110.61" and insert in lieu thereof the figures "$572,555.61."

(2) Section 1, line 4, strike out the figures "$589,427.84" and insert in lieu thereof the figures "$598,827.84."

(3) Section 1, line 11, strike out the figures "199,000.00-208,735.00" and insert in lieu thereof the figures "208,445.00-218,135.00."

(4) Section 1, line 12, strike out the figures "$203,000.00-$212,735.00" and insert in lieu thereof the figures "$212,445.00-$222,135.00."

(5) Section 1, line 21, strike out the figures "$563,110.61-$589,427.84" and insert in lieu thereof the figures "$572,555.61-$598,827.84."

A bill to amend section 2 of Act No. 195 of the Public Acts of 1903, as amended, entitled "An act to provide for the taxation of inheritance, transfers of property by will, transfers of property by the intestate laws of this State, or transfers of property by deed, grant, bargain, sale or gift, made in contemplation of the death of the grantor, vendor, or donor, or intended to take effect in possession or enjoyment at or after such death."

A bill to amend section 19 of chapter 4 of Act No. 283 of the Public Acts of the State of Michigan for the year 1909, entitled "An act to revise, consolidate and add to the laws relating to the establishment, opening, improvement, maintenance and use of the public highways and private roads, the condemnation of property and gravel therefor; the building, repairing and preservation of bridges; setting and protecting shade trees, drainage, cutting weeds and brush within this State, and providing for the election and defining the powers, duties and compensation of State, county, township and district highway officials," being compiler's section 4365 of the Compiled Laws of the State of Michigan for the year 1915, as amended.

A bill to authorize the formation of corporations for the purpose of damming, excavating, constructing and maintaining water courses with water power appurtenant thereto, for accumulating, storing, manufacturing, conducting, selling, furnishing and supplying to the public generally, water and water power, electricity and electric power or any other kind of power, for providing for condemnation proceedings in certain cases, and declaring the same to be a public use. The question being on the passage of the bill, the roll was called and the Senators voted as follows:
