A bill to amend chapter 7 of Act No. 203 of the Public Acts of 1917, entitled "An act to provide for the holding of elections, to prescribe the manner of conducting and to regulate elections, to prevent fraud and deception in the conducting of elections and to guard against abuses of the elective franchise," by adding thereto a new section to stand as section 14-a.

The message informed the Senate that the House of Representatives has passed the bill.

The message further informed the Senate that the House has ordered that the bill be known as the "Lee-Titus Bill."

A bill to amend section 146 of Act No. 206 of the Public Acts of 1893, entitled "An act to provide for the assessment of property and the levy and collection of taxes thereon and for the collection of taxes heretofore and hereafter levied; making such taxes a lien on the lands taxed, establishing and continuing such lien, providing for the sale and conveyance of lands delinquent for taxes and for the inspection and disposition of lands bid off to the State and not redeemed or purchased; and to repeal Act No. 200 of the Public Acts of 1891, and all other acts and parts of acts in anywise contravening any of the provisions of this act," as added to said act by Act No. 154 of the Public Acts of 1899, as last amended by Act No. 260 of the Public Acts of 1917, being compiler's section 4145 of the Compiled Laws of 1915.

Religious exercises were conducted by Rev. Thomas G. R. Brownlow of the Michigan Avenue Methodist Episcopal Church of Lansing.

Presentation of Petitions.

Petition No. 582. By Mr. Condon. Petition of Mrs. Olive Sylvester and forty others of the Township of Dearborn, Wayne County, opposing the Joint Resolution now in the Michigan State Senate proposing an amendment to the constitution by which fifty per cent of the School Library money will be diverted from the School Fund and be placed in the State general fund.

The petition was referred to the Committee on Education.

Announcement by Secretary of Printing and Filing of Bills.

A bill to provide for the certification of the unimproved land and improved farms in the State of Michigan, the creation of a list of accredited dealers in lands, the examination of those qualified to certify lands, and the authorization to prescribe rules and regulations necessary to comply with the provisions of this act and provide for a penalty for violation of the provisions of this act. A bill to amend section 10-a of Act No. 236 of the Public Acts of 1915, entitled "An act to protect fish in the inland waters of this State and to regulate the manner of taking, possession, transportation, size and sale of fish when taken from said waters, to provide penalties for the violation of this act, and to repeal all acts and parts of acts conflicting therewith," as amended by Act No. 155 of the Public Acts of 1921.

The report was accepted.
