A message was received from the House of Representatives re-transmitting
House bill No. 174 (file No. 357), entitled

A bill to provide for the suspension of a teacher's certificate for violation of contract,

For which the Senate adopted a substitute with the following title:

A bill to provide for suspending a certificate of any teacher who violates a contract to teach.

The message informed the Senate that the House has amended the Senate substitute as follows:

Amend by inserting in section 2, after the word "thereon," the following: "such place of hearing shall be in the county in which the contract was violated." The message further informed the Senate that as thus amended the House has agreed to the adoption of the Senate substitute.

The question being on concurring in the amendment made to the Senate substitute by the House,

The roll was called and the Senators voted as follows:

The House amendment to the Senate substitute was concurred in.

Mr. Young moved that a respectful message be sent to the House of Representatives, asking the return to the Senate of

Senate bill No. 241 (file No. 195), entitled

A bill to authorize the payment of salaries to certain county officers, to provide for the collection and disposition of fees by such officers, and to designate the times at which the amount of such salaries shall be fixed and determined.

The motion prevailed.

Conference Report.

The following Conference Report was received and read:

The Committee of Conference on the matters of difference between the two Houses relative to

Senate bill No. 67 (file No. 164), entitled

A bill to make appropriations for the Board of Registration in Medicine for the fiscal years ending June 30, 1924, and June 30, 1925, for maintenance, operation and other purposes,

Having met and considered said matters of difference, have agreed to recommend, and do recommend, as follows:

That the House recede from its amendments numbered 3, 4 and 7, which amendments read as follows:

3. Amend by striking out of section 1, line 12, the amounts "1,000.00-1,000.00," and inserting in lieu thereof the amounts "800.00-800.00."

4. Amend by striking out of section 1, line 13, the amounts "$7,000.00-$7,000.00," and inserting in lieu thereof the amounts "$6,800.00-$6,800.00."

7. Amend by striking out of section 1, line 16, the amounts "2,326.00-2,326.00," and inserting in lieu thereof the amounts "900.00-900.00."

That the Senate recede from its disagreement to House amendments numbered 5, 9 and 10 and agree to the same as follows:

5. Amend by striking out of section 1, line 14, the amounts "900.00-900.00," and inserting in lieu thereof the amounts "800.00-800.00."

9. Amend by inserting in section 1, line 20, after the word "stated," the words "subject to the general supervisory control of the State Administrative Board."

10. Amend by striking out of section 2, lines 2 and 3, the words "and the disbursing officer of the Board of Registration in Medicine shall render his accounts therefor."

That the Senate recede from its disagreement to the amendments of the House numbered 1, 2, 6 and 8, and agree to the same amended so as to read as follows: 1. Strike out of Section 1, line 3 the words "eleven thousand three hundred seventy-six" and insert "eleven thousand twenty-six."

2. Strike out of Section 1, line 4 the words "eleven thousand two hundred seventy-six" and insert in lieu thereof the words "ten thousand nine hundred twentysix."

6. Strike out of Section 1, line 15 the figures "$1050.00-$1050.00" and insert in lieu thereof the figures "$800.00-$800.00."

8. Strike out of Section 1, line 18 the figures "$11,376.00-$11,276.00" and insert in lieu thereof the figures "$11,026.00-$10,926.00."

And the House agree to the said amendments as thus amended.

A bill to amend Act No. 53 of the Public Acts of 1921, entitled "An act to regulate the establishment, maintenance, and conducting of public billiard and pool rooms, dance halls, bowling alleys and soft drink emporiums outside of incorporated cities and villages; to provide for the issuance of permits for such places; to prescribe the powers and duties of township boards with relation thereto; and to prescribe the penalty for violation of the provisions hereof," by adding a new section to be known as section 7.

The report was accepted.

The bill was referred to the Committee of the Whole.

Mr. Eldred moved that the Senate adjourn.

The motion prevailed, the time being 4:33 o'clock p. m.

A bill authorizing the board of supervisors of any of the several counties of the State of Michigan to appropriate money from the general fund for the purpose of celebrating the centennial of the organization of the county or paying the deficit existing for the expenses of such celebration after it has been held.

The message informed the Senate that the House has amended the bill as follows:

1. Amend by inserting in line 2, section 2, after the word "held," the following: "and appropriations may be made to pay existing deficits in relation thereto not exceeding the amount specified in the foregoing section notwithstanding prior appropriations made for the expense thereof."

The message further informed the Senate that as thus amended the House has passed the bill.

A bill to amend sections 8, 14 and 120 of Act No. 206 of the Public Acts of 1893, entitled "An act to provide for the assessment of property and the levy and collection of taxes thereon, and for the collection of taxes heretofore and hereafter levied; making such taxes a lien on the lands taxed, establishing and continuing such lien, providing for the sale and conveyance of lands delinquent for taxes, and for the inspection and disposition of lands bid off to the State and not redeemed or purchased; and to repeal Act No. 200 of the Public Acts of 1891, and all other acts and parts of acts in anywise contravening any of the provisions of this act."

The message informed the Senate that the House has amended the bill as follows:

1. Amend by striking out of line 1 of enacting section 1 the figure "8."
