A bill to regulate and define common carriers of persons and property by motor vehicle on public highways of this State, prescribing the payment and fixing the amount of privilege taxes for such carriers, the disposition of such taxes and prescribing penalties for violation of this act.

The message informed the Senate that the House has amended the bill as follows: 1.

Amend by striking out of line 1, section 1, the word "ninety" and inserting in lieu thereof the word "thirty."

2. Amend by inserting in line 8, section 1, after the word "permit", when used the second time, the words "shall be issued in accordance with public convenience and necessity and."

3. Amend by inserting in line 4, section 3, after the word "and," the words "so far as applicable," and by striking out of line 6 the words "so far as applicable."

4. Amend by inserting in line 2, section 6, after the word "granted" the words "suspend or."

5. Amend by inserting in line 6, section 8, after the word "regulation” the words "applicable to all motor vehicles."

6. Amend by striking out section 12.

The message further informed the Senate that as thus amended the House has passed the bill.

A bill to prevent fraud, deception and imposition in the issuance, sale or disposition of stocks, bonds and other securities sold or offered for sale within the State of Michigan, and for such purpose to create a commission to regulate and supervise the issuance, sale and disposition of such securities; to license dealers and salesmen of securities; to prescribe the powers and duties of such commission; to prescribe penalties for violation of this act; and to repeal Act No. 46 of the Public Acts of 1915.

The message informed the Senate that the House has amended the bill as follows:

1. Amend by adding to section 4, after line 49, the following:

"(i) Capital stock of a trust company organized under the laws of Michigan." The message further informed the Senate that as thus amended the House has passed the bill and ordered that it take immediate effect.
