My reader; I am glad to find you interested in this inquiry. I rejoice that you are desiring to enter the Redeemer's service. It is a truly delightful service, a noble employment, to be permitted to assist in training spirits for the skies. Christ has died to ransom us, and in the character of Mediator, has passed into the heavens; but he has bequeathed to his people, his lovely example, and his Holy Spirit, to aid them in gathering his wandering flocks into the fold. And now how shall we most effectually do this? How can we convince these stray sheep, that they are wandering upon dreary and dark mountains, destitute of verdure, and "where no
