The Committee on Public Health, by Mr. Hulse, Chairman, reported House bill No. 295, entitled

A bill to provide sanitary regulation for the shipment of dressed beef, calves, sheep and hogs and to provide penalties for violations,

With the following amendments thereto, recommending that the amendments be concurred in and that when so amended the bill pass: 1. Amend by striking out of line 3 of section 1 the words "or otherwise" and inserting after the word "freight" the word "or."

2. Amend by striking out of lines 5 and 6 of section 1 the words "or other vehicles."

3. Amend by inserting in line 9 of section 1 after the word "etc." the words "Provided, This shall not apply to carcasses shipped with the hides left on."

4. Amend by striking out of lines 4 and 5 of section 2 the words "one hundred dollars nor more than one thousand" and inserting in lieu thereof the words "twenty-five dollars nor more than one hundred."

The report was accepted and the committee discharged.

The question being on the adoption of the amendments to the bill recommended by the committee,

The amendments were adopted.

The bill was ordered printed, referred to the Committee of the Whole and placed on the general orders.

A bill to authorize and empower the public domain commission to issue certificates of correction in certain cases, and to have the same recorded in the office of the register of deeds in any county wherein the lands affected by such certificate may be located.

A bill to amend sections 5, 11 and 25 of Act No. 326 of the Public Acts of 1913, as amended by Act No. 92 of the Public Acts of 1915, entitled "An act to provide for the leasing, control and taxation of certain lands owned and controlled by the State, and the improvements thereon; providing penalties for the violation of certain provisions thereof; and repealing Act No. 215 of the Public Acts of 1909, and all other acts or parts of acts inconsistent herewith,"

And informing the House of Representatives that the Senate had amended the same as follows:

1. By inserting in line 9 of section 1, after the word "herewith" the words "being compilers' sections 610, 616 and 630 of the Compiled Laws of 1915."

2. By amending the title to read as follows:

A bill to amend sections 5, 11 and 25 of Act 326 of the Public Acts of 1913, as amended by Act No. 92 of the Public Acts of 1915, entitled "An act to provide for the leasing, control and taxation of certain lands owned and controlled by the State, and the improvements thereon; providing penalties for the violation of certain provisions thereof and repealing Act No. 215 of the Public Acts of 1909, and all other acts or parts of acts inconsistent herewith," being compilers' sections 610, 616 and 630 of the Compiled Laws of 1915,

And further informing the House of Representatives that, as thus amended, and with the title thus amended, the Senate had passed the

A bill to amend section 11 of part 2 of Act No. 10 of the Public Acts of Michigan of the First Extra Session of 1912, entitled "An act to promote the welfare of the people of this State, relating to the liability of employers for injuries or death sustained by their employes, providing com pensation for the accidental injury to or death of employes and methods for the payment of the same, establishing an Industrial Accident Board defining its powers, providing for a review of its awards, making an appropriation to carry out the provisions of this act, and restricting the right to compensation or damages in such cases to such as are provided by this act.
